Perthshire has stunning scenery with beautiful
forests, hills and rivers yet is only an hour away from Edinburgh
and Glasgow and the many attractions of those cities. Stirling and
Perth are closer and the beautiful seaside town of St Andrews is
less than an hour away.
The trees and gardens are magnificent and all outdoor pursuits can be enjoyed in the local countryside including walking, cycling, fishing, shooting,
skiing and golf.
Children will enjoy playing in the house’s large and safe gardens as well as visiting Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre, Drummond Safari Park and The Scottish Deer Centre. A park with swings and paddling pool is very close to the house. Crieff has an excellent public recreation centre with a swimming pool and gym.
There are many beautiful gardens to visit including those attached to castles and stately homes.
Pethshire has been at the centre of Scotland ’s history and there are many castles, museums, historic homes and monuments to visit including Blair Castle, Killiekrankie, Scone Palace, and Perth Museum and Art Gallery.
Walking at all levels can be enjoyed and there are many Munroes and Corbetts within an hour’s drive. Our manager, Willie Rankine, is a very experienced hill walker and he will be able to advise on routes and times.
Top quality golf can be enjoyed with Gleneagles is only 15 minutes away
and dozens of other golf course within a few miles radius. The area
also offers magnificent fishing in the local rivers.
If you are eating in Crieff, it has two supermarkets as well as a number of specialist food shops, there are a number of off licences and Scotland’s oldest distillery (where you can enjoy the Famous Grouse Experience) is only a couple of miles away. There are many eating out options in the locality from country pubs to the finest cooking at Gleneagles.
